Software Piracy

This is an OLD warning/advert against software piracy from back in the day. Do you think that, when they were putting together that picture of that disc dated 23rd August 1989 they could have had any idea of how the internet would change things. As those two hands pass 1.44Mb between friends, could they have known that TERRABYTES of copyright data would be changing hands between complete strangers just 20 years later?

Sadly, I don't know where this image came from. Credit to both the creator and the scanner.

Absinthe

A poster for the 1913 film, Absinthe. Sadly it seems like the film is long-lost.

El Papel Gol...

This is a Spanish advert for 'Gol' brand smoking papers of unknown origin/year. I love that, for a smoking advert, there is no-one smoking here, no tobacco, no cigarettes: nope, just a smiling Spanish lady, grinning to convince you of the wonders of 'Gol' papers

Poster Hunt #11 - Nightfall

Here are a couple of posters for Jaques Tourneur's Nightfall (IMDb) from 1957, starring Aldo Ray, Brian Keith and Anne Bancroft. I don't write much about the films for these Poster Hunt posts (as I select them for artwork rather than the film - most of them I haven't seen), so if you do want to know more about the film I'll direct you to this comprehensive blog post at Noir of the Week.

Every day for five years? That's quite a claim!
